As the platform grew, the demands on its notification system intensified. What had once been a functional system, delivering 3,000 notifications per minute, became overwhelmed. Delays of up to 15 minutes during peak times risked leaving urgent staffing needs unmet, jeopardizing the operations of healthcare institutions. With the stakes so high, it became evident that the system needed to be upgraded to keep pace with the growing user base and ensure reliable, timely notifications.

Revamping the Notification System for Speed and Scalability
Zaneffi took on the challenge of improving the platform’s notification system to handle the increased load and reduce delays. The goal was to significantly boost the system’s capacity while ensuring fast, reliable communication, particularly for urgent staffing needs.
After a thourough analysis of the existing system, Zaneffi overhauled the infrastructure and implementation, addressing performance bottlenecks and optimizing the way notifications were processed. This resulted in a tremendous increase in throughput, from 3,000 to 90,000 notifications per minute, ensuring the platform could handle even the highest levels of demand. Notification delays were also reduced from 15 minutes to just 2 minutes, ensuring that healthcare professionals received timely updates for critical shifts.
To ensure a smooth and risk-free transition, Zaneffi employed a phased approach to the upgrade. Notifications were gradually rerouted to the new system while the old infrastructure remained operational. This allowed for real-time testing and fine-tuning without causing any interruptions to the platform’s services. As the new system proved reliable, traffic was gradually shifted over entirely, ensuring seamless service for clients during the transition.
